Coping Mechanisms: Allowing the Past to Soothe My Future

Coping Mechanisms: Letting the Past Sooth my Future,  is a series of paintings, drawings and sculptures that have helped me deal with the inevitable – ‘I’m getting older.’” Though I have recognized this for many years, it has never been so evident as to the day I turned 40.  Children have always been allowed to play with toys to relieve stresses and understand the world around them.  In these works I am attempted to use playful imagery to deal with adult themes in hopes to find mechanisms to cope issues that come with age
